Quoted from the detik.com, Jokowi revealed the reason for choosing young people to be his exclusive staff. He hopes they can become a ‘bridge’ to young people outside there. He said, “They will be my discussion partners, daily, weekly, and monthly. They can look for ways out of the box to jump and catch up in every problem.”
Here is the list of the Jokowis’s Millennials Exclusive Staff. they are :
- Adamas Belva Syah Devara (29) – Founder and CEO of Ruang Guru
- Putri Tanjung (23) – Founder and CEO of Creativepreneur
- Andi Taufan Garuda Putra (32) – Founder and CEO of Amartha
- Ayu Kartika Dewi (36) – Founder of the SabangMerauke Movement

Two of Jokowi’s Millennials Exclusive Staff resigned from their position. Both of them are Adamas Belva Syah Devara and Andi Taufan Garuda.
Quoted from the page cnbcindonesia.com on Tuesday (4/21/2020), Ruang Guru CEO, Belva Devara, suddenly announced his resignation as President Joko Widodo’s Millennials Exclusive Staff. Belva’s resignation cannot be separate from the news about the prework-card programs. The program aimed at increasing the skills of unemployment and people who lost their jobs due to the COVID 19 pandemic. In the prework-card program, the Ruang Guru platform became one of the platforms chosen by the government to implement the programs. So the public looks this as nepotism.
After a few days, Amartha CEO, Andi Taufan Garuda Putra, followed the footsteps of Belva Devara. Cabinet Secretary, Pramono Anung said, the head of state had accepted and approved Andi Taufan’s resignation. He understood the reasons concerned about his resignation. Belva and Andi are part of the seven new Millennials Exclusive Staff, sworn on 21 November 2019.
Jokowi claimed that from the beginning, he wanted young people like Belva and Andi, to learn and play a role in governance. During their duties, according to Jokowi, Belva and Andi have helped a lot in providing innovative ideas in various public service systems to be faster and more effective.
