5 Fasting Tips during Ramadhan in the Pandemic

The holy month of Ramadhan is welcome again. In this year’s Ramadhan, we are facing Ramadhan again amid the COVID-19 pandemic. We already learnt things from this condition last year. This is challenging in itself, given the pandemic situation that has not yet show the signs of disappearing. So, here are 5 fasting tips during Ramadhan in the pandemic! Here we go.

  1. Fulfill your Nutritional Needs

Nutritional needs are crucial during Ramadhan a pandemic. With adequate nutrition, the immune system will work optimally to ward off various diseases that come to the body. A balanced portion of food by taking into account the value of carbohydrates (rice, corn, cassava), protein (vegetals and animals), fiber (vegetables), vitamins (fruits), and added milk, all of these foods will help to increase your immune system.

  1. Drink Enough Water

Drinking eight glasses of water a day is a must. Lack of fluids during fasting can cause dehydration and loss of focus for the body. Don’t forget to drink two glasses of water at dawn, one glass when breaking the fast, one glass before eating, one glass after eating, two glasses after tarawih praying, and one glass before bed.

  1. Do Exercise

Exercising is also one great way to do so that we can stay fit in carrying out worship. You don’t have to do strenuous sports like running and others. Simply taking a leisurely walk in the afternoon or doing yoga can also help you get a fit body during fasting. Don’t forget to sunbathe in the morning too!

  1. Continue to Implement Health Protocols

Keep doing health protocols such as physical and social distancing, using masks wherever in the public space, washing hands using soap and water, having hand sanitizers ready, avoiding crowds, and various health protocols that around us enforced.

  1. Expand Worship

The month of Ramadhan is the appropriate month for you to get closer to Allah. Do more worship in this holy month, starting from carrying out what is obligatory to other sunnah worship. Inshaa-Allah, by increasing your praying, the heart will calm down, and it causes to reduce the stress. The body then will become healthier because your heart fulfilled with happiness.
